Profile
The
Alexandria Centre is the first to offer courses and programs in
Arabic, English, French and German. Our mission is to deliver high
quality teaching of these languages outside the usual university
degree structure.
Mrs
Magda Abou Youssef
Program Consultant
and Admin. Advisor, has been in charge of similar centres for the
past 20 years having occupied the post of Director of Studies for
British University students since 1985. Her extensive experience
in the field of language teaching as well as her managerial
skills, enables her to fully understand the ingredients for
success in any demanding program.
The
Alexandria Centre is firmly committed to maintaining the highest
standard of teaching and research in the field of Arabic language
and culture for foreign students whether private individuals,
university students,government officials, or researchers all
sharing an interest in the language and its culture.
It
is located in the centre of the city and just a 10 minutes walk to
"The Biblioteca Alexandrina" and to the heart of the city where
most of the cinemas, theatres and entertainment places are
located. Many of the universities are also located in the same
area.
The
centre can also assist applicants to teach their mother tongue
languages to Egyptian learners.
Arabic
Courses are offered in both Fusha (Modern standard Arabic) and
Amiyya (Colloquial Spoken Language) The courses are taught in
small groups a maximum of 12 students per group in Fusha and 8
students Only in Amiyya.
The
courses do not follow a uniform pattern but are tailored to the
needs of the applicants so as to meet the requirements of each
group or individual as well as to promote a familiarity with and
an enduring interest in the culture of the country. Each course
concentrates on giving participants the maximum they can get of a
language during the period of their course, as well as benefiting
from living in an authentic Egyptian environment. |
